The Cosmetology Association is the legislated, regulatory authority of all cosmetologists, salons, and spas in Nova Scotia and its mission is to promote the highest licensing compliance standards and universal precautions for the safety of the public and the practicing professional cosmetologist (Hairstylists, Estheticians, Make-Up Artists, Nail Technicians, Eyelash Technicians, Hair Removal Specialists, and other specific cosmetology licence categories).

You may not be safe! and here is the reason why...
The Cosmetology Association imposes and ensures the highest of universal infection control and safety standards. All professional Cosmetologists or mobile Cosmetologists in Nova Scotia (Hairstylists, Estheticians, Nail Techs, Lash Techs, Make-up Artists, or Hair Removal Specialists) must hold a valid and current licence and/or a salon permit issued by the Cosmetology Association. All licences and permits must be visable to the public at all times.
If you cannot locate a Cometoligst's licence and/or a salon permit upon your visit, please contact the Cosmetology Association to confirm your Cosmetologist's licence and/or salon permit status pior to receiving any service!
You leave yourself vulnerable if you receive services from a hairstylist, esthetician, nail technician, make-up artists, eyelash technician or hair removal specialist who does not hold a valid and current licence and/or a salon permit should something unforeseen happen.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR
Your cosmetologist must hold a current (must show the current year date) and valid Cosmetology Association Licence and/or Photo ID card. This ID card confirms whether or not the cosmetologist is licensed and is able to provide services to the general public for fee, gain, or expectation of reward.
