Jill MacDonald, a proud Indigenous woman from Membertou First Nation, is a licensed hairdresser, lash technician, and aesthetician who is extremely passionate about the beauty industry and the many avenues for advancement it creates.

Jill is interested in becoming a member of the Board of Directors because she is keen to become a main voice for new generations entering the industry. Being young and new to cosmetology has given Jill a unique perspective on what the next generation of beauty professionals need, what they’re interested in, and how the Association can help graduates feel supported and confident as they begin their careers. 

Jill consistently follows new trends, techniques, products, and changes within the industry and believes that professional development is important. In addition, she believes that this industry is about much more than beauty; it’s about building confidence, creating connections, supporting other professionals, and helping people feel good about themselves. 

Jill is looking forward to an opportunity to bring a fresh, younger perspective to the Board and in turn, learning from those with gained experience in the industry. Jill considers herself to be approachable, passionate, and willing to listen to others and is supportive of creating new opportunities for young professionals - encouraging education and growth and ensuring that all voices are heard.
