In order to maintain and ensure industry compliance and standards for the protection of the general public and the cosmetologists, all cosmetologists, salons and spas will be required to obtain a photo ID card from the Association by December 31, 2019.
Picture ID's will help to ensure the public and distributors/vendors that cosmetologists, salons and spas are licensed and in complaince (trained in universal precautions and the skills of the trade/profession to safely provide cosmetology services on the public and shop from the professional distributors). The public and distributors ( Like Maritime Beauty, Euro Beauty and Eastern Esthetics) can now check to ensure a licence is current and up to date allowing you to purchase supplies which are only sold to professionals.
At your request the ID's should help to stop the unlicensed individuals from purchasing professional products for use and distribution to the public, and those who are not cosmetologists from acting as cosmetologists. Make sure to promote your licence and permit at all times (In person, on social media etc).
The back of the ID or Permit card has a QR code, this code allows anyone to check to see that the licence or permit is current and valid at any time. The app for the QR code for public viewing can be found on Google Play at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.companyname.cosmetology
Licence cards must always be visible to the public while performing cosmetology services.
First initial ID card is free with your membership. Members requiring a replacement card will be charged a fee of $20 + hst.
