cansweblogo350The Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia (the "Association") is the licensing and regulatory body of Nova Scotia Cosmetologists working for “fee, gain or reward,” salons and spas, industry business owners, and colleges offering Cosmetology programs.

BILL No. 119 : An Act Respecting Cosmetology and its By-Laws are regulatory legislation guiding the Association to promote the highest licensing compliance standards and advocate best practice of universal precautions for the safety of the public and the practicing Cosmetologist

Licences and permits are compulsory for all Nova Scotia Cosmetologists and Cosmetology establishments. Licences and permits must be displayed in salons and spas in an area easily viewed by the public.

Association members are Hairdressers, Estheticians, Nail Technicians, Makeup Artists, Specific Licence Holders, salons and spas, and Cosmetology colleges and students. Members are industry professionals helping one another practice safely and successfully in Nova Scotia.
